Edelweiss's artistry is unique. Not only has she been designing strange and wonderful fashions for over three years now, but she is well trained in traditional art mediums also. She finds inspiration in many things, from stylistic comic book art to the techniques of the past; like Avant-Garde and Art Deco. Through a mixture of creative thought, unusual mark-making, tireless design, and infectious personality, Edelweiss De Guzman is one-of-a-kind. She is currently attending UNC Charlotte.

“I had a bilingual and bicultural upbringing which continues to weave into the fabric of my art on multiple levels. Media or specific styling does not define my work; instead, ideas & concepts are articulated through the combination and experimentation of multifarious materials ranging from glass & recycled objects to oils on canvas and everything in between. Multiple opportunities have lead to interesting exhibitions in the U.S., South America & Europe. I am a full-time working artist.
I am an artist that paints on silk and acrylic on canvas. I have been inspired to paint on 100 % silk since I am a belly dancer and create dyed silk veils. Ran out of canvas one day and decided to paint on silk. I have been inspired by 2 people from my acrylic paintings. Dana Endsey had offerred a class on Mandalas and soul work and then I learned landscape paintings through Elie from Cafe Elie in Cornelius. I am also a belly dancer and offer workshops in the Lake Norman area.
I am very passionate when it comes to the subjects I love such as art, sociology, family and my beliefs in life. I use my artwork as a medium to Illustrate important contemporary topics.
